UN Secretary-General António Guterres met GEIDCO Chairman Liu Zhenya
ON 9th Jan, 2017 local time, UN Secretary-General António Guterres met Liu Zhenya, Chairman of Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) and China Electricity Council (CEC) in UN New York Headquarter. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged ideas on building GEI to promote global energy transition and sustainable development with important consensus being reached. Liu also presented the English version of Global Energy Interconnection and UHV DC Power Grid to Guterres. Also attending the meeting were UN Under-Secretary-General Wu Hongbo and people in charge of related UN Departments.

UK- GEIDCO and CEC Chairman Liu Zhenya made a keynote speech “Global Energy Interconnection for Transition and Innovative Development of Energy Worldwide” at the Chatham House Energy Transitions 2016 in London on 28th November 2016.
2016 The Future of Energy APAC Summit Concluded
More than 400 delegates from international organizations, government organs, industrial companies and research institutes gathered at the 2016 the Future of Energy APAC Summit in Shanghai on 1st to 2nd November, 2016 organized by GEIDCO and Bloomberg New Energy Finance with the support from Bloomberg Business Week/Chinese Edition, to discuss major issues concerning a future blueprint of the energy sector led by S&T and driven by innovation with strategic development on the theme of “Energy Supply, Demand, Interconnections and Regional Development”. It advocated that more investment should be put to promote energy transition and upgrade and grid interconnection to inject new dynamism into sustainable social and economic development. The Summit made a great success with extensive consensus being made in building GEI.
